About the Event

The idea of this exhibition was born, valuing the concept of “PAYING IT FORWARD”. The existing fellows indeed received a life-changing opportunity at Samaanta and we want to do the same for other deserving students in our communities. For the exhibition, the fellows have created different art and craft products using their own creative skills and knowledge. Moreover, a few amazing artists have donated some of their pieces for the fundraiser. Quiling art, Bottle art, Paintings, Sketches, Portraits, Stone arts, Mandala arts and many more will be displayed on the day of exhibition. Apart from the main exhibition days, the products will also be displayed at stalls in different colleges. The official theme for the exhibition is “One more fellow” and it will be entirely managed by the Samaanta fellows.

About Samaanta

Samaanta Foundation is an initiative that aims to promote equality and empowerment by providing quality higher education opportunities to students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. The Samaanta provides comprehensive fellowships to meritorious students to cover their educational and associated costs, and helps create an enabling environment for the fellows to succeed in college and beyond.

Concept of Paying it forward

Samaanta Foundation was founded on the principle of “paying it forward”. The founders have benefited from the numerous scholarships they have received throughout the world and are giving back through this Foundation. They are working with fellows to inspire them to contribute meaningfully to the lives of others when they are able to do so.

Purpose of the Event

All the proceeds from this exhibition will be utilized to provide fellowship opportunities to one more deserving student from the Karnali province of Nepal in the year 2023. Over the last ten years, we have only had two fellows from the Karnali province. The proceeds from this event will go towards sponsoring one more fellow from Karnali. We are hopeful that this event will help to manage enough resources needed to approach schools and select candidates from there. Therefore, the fellows are using their skills and knowledge to make this exhibition happen and contribute back to the community by giving them an opportunity to be a part of Samaanta fellowship.

Expected Proceeds

This fundraising event has a target to raise a minimum fund of $4000 to support a deserving student from the Karnali province for his/her 2 years of higher education in a prestigious college of Kathmandu and this can open so many possibilities for the student to study further, build a career and contribute back to their community. We have a bigger target of selecting as many students as possible from Karnali and this exhibition is one first step towards that goal.

Around 150 people visited and bought the products. The exhibition took place in front of Bhat-Bhateni Super Store, Bijulibajar and at Samaanta Foundation’s office.

We would like to welcome you all to our event. Hoping to see you there.
