Following the most extensive selection process in our organization’s history, we are thrilled to introduce Samaanta Foundation’s 10th cohort of fellows.

Over June and July 2021, we interviewed 86 candidates from 42 schools across 10 districts, including three new districts – Parsa, Parbat and Tanahun. For the second consecutive year, we conducted the selection process remotely. This would not have been possible without the support of our fellows, Teach For Nepal fellows and public school teachers who helped set up written exams and interviews.

As always, we had an incredible pool of candidates, as we got to meet with and learn from students who have overcome incredible adversity to make progress towards their ambitions. As always, we had to make excruciatingly difficult decisions, as we had far more deserving candidates than we could admit. We salute all these fantastic applicants, and wish them all the best for the future. Our 10th cohort boasts 13 fellows, selected for their academic excellence, commitment to service, and potential for leadership. This is our largest as well as our most diverse cohort yet.

This takes Samaanta’s total fellowship to 76, including 36 active fellows this year. The new selected fellows this year are:

1. Deepa Amgai, Tanahun

2. Deepak Kumar Patel, Parsa

3. Dila KC, Dang
