Basanta Chanda
Basanta Chanda, originally from Rukum, moved to Dang with his family. Raised by a single mother, he has a twin brother and a younger brother. His mother relies on labour work and agriculture to provide for the family.
Basanta completed his SEE from Shree Secondary School Bhitrisakram, Dang where he actively participated in school activities. He was the Secretary at the Child Club of his school for a year, through which he also participated in a leadership development training from the ward office. He implemented learnings from the training to encourage and involve other students in several activities developing rules and guidelines for the students as an outcome. He also actively participated in the ‘Suna Pari Sikai Mela’ project by Teach For Nepal and volunteered in STEM challenges.
Aspiring to become a chartered accountant, Basanta is currently studying Management at V.S Niketan College, driven by a desire to make a positive impact in his community.
