Bipana Tamang
Bipana comes from an agricultural family residing in Lamjung. Given the inherent limitations of agriculture as a sustainable source of income, her father additionally seeks employment as a labourer in a nearby town for several months each year. Complicating matters further, her family is currently burdened with debt to support her elder sister’s ongoing education. Bipana has always harbored dreams of pursuing a Science education, but her opportunities to do so were exceedingly limited.
During her time in school, she held the position of President at ‘Nagar Bal Sanjal’ and served as Vice President at ‘Gandaki Bal Sanjaal’. She actively organized various programs aimed at raising awareness about the importance of sanitation. Bipana also demonstrated her intellectual capacities by participating in several interschool quiz competitions.
Presently, she is enrolled in the Management stream for her high school education at Nepal Mega College. Bipana stands out as a remarkably thoughtful, articulate, and intelligent individual who is unquestionably deserving of the Samaanta Foundation Fellowship.
