Gagan Rai

Twelfth Cohort

Gagan hails from Solukhumbu and is a member of a six-person family, including himself, his father, mother, brother, and two sisters. His parents are engaged in farming, while his brother, after discontinuing his education in the 12th grade, established a goat farm in Solukhumbu with a few goats. One of his sisters also had to cease her education, while the other is currently in the 8th grade, attending a government school.

Gagan’s active participation at School extends to various activities, including his involvement in the Rastrapati Running Shield and various other programs. He possesses fluency in English, maintains an awareness of community issues, and is deeply committed to the well-being of his community.

Among his interests, Gagan enjoys playing games such as football and also likes to read about various scientists and their works. Despite facing a disability, he has displayed unwavering passion and enthusiasm for learning and excelling in all his endeavors.

Currently, he is enrolled at V.S. Niketan College, Tinkune, Kathmandu in the Faculty of Management. Remarkably, he is set to become the first member of his family to complete high school.
