Every year, Samaanta Foundation goes through a rigorous selection process in order to select deserving meritorious students from disadvantaged backgrounds to receive comprehensive higher education fellowships.
This year, the pandemic has forced us to plan differently to execute our selection process. A little delayed and all virtual this year but we have carried on with the selection of 9th batch of Samaanta fellows, while most of the country remains locked down and even though the school education exams (SEE) have been cancelled. Over July and August, we interviewed 66 candidates from 35 schools in Lalitpur, Sindhupalchowk, Kavre, Lamjung, Dang, Dhanusha and Humla. We took necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone concerned, and accommodating the specific needs of each candidate.
Now on to the agonizing process of selecting a few from among the many, many outstanding candidates with great potential over the next weeks.
We would like to thank all the nominated candidates, head teachers, teachers, and parents for their help, support, patience, and continued support.
